A New Hobby And Almost A New Year

This year was something else, and I didn’t report half of what happened here: concerts, jams, travel, what a whirlwind! I can say, without a doubt, that it was the busiest year of my life, and although I feel a bit tired and just wish I could curl up on the couch for the next weeks, I’m also really happy with all of the activities I got to do, and looking forward for yet another year of fun in 2019.

I haven’t written for the blog in a while; the truth is, I picked up a new hobby and that has been consuming most of my free time, in the best way possible: I’ve been embroidering more often. I do want to go about it in more detail in another post, but I thought I’d share the main reason for my absence around here.

I’m mostly posting my works and tries with embroidery on my embroidery-focused Instagram account, so if you don’t see me here as often, you can follow me there at @astabinthedark.

My vacation, up until the first of January, is going to be spent in The Netherlands, most of it in Rotterdam, where Jorri – the Dutch boyfriend, if you recall – lives. I don’t usually travel to Portugal for Christmas: it’s a very busy time, and I like to spend at least one week of vacation without having to worry about flying, or visiting everyone I know in my home town. In The Netherlands, Christmas is not such a big deal as in Portugal, since they have Sinterklaas to fall back on for the presents so, all in all, I think I’ll still manage to have some quiet days around here, just doing embroidery and going from the bed to the couch and back to bed again.

How about you? Any plans for the next year, or are you just going  to improvise with whatever life throws at you?
